Notes from the Island; The 2017 “To Do” List

It’s taken a couple of weeks but we’ve got a basic list of adventures written up that we would like to do this year. We’ve done this for the last couple of years and it helps to stop weekends disappearing as they often try to do.We sit down with a pen and paper and everyone shouts what they want to do. We’ve also penciled “Adventure Days” on the calendar so we should have at least one day free every weekend. Anyway here’s our list.

  • Mountain Climbing
  • Rock Climbing
  • Sky Diving
  • Multi-Day Hikes
  • Forest Biking
  • Camping
  • Star Gazing
  • Go Hunting for Animals. (I’m hoping this means follow tracks in the woods!)
  • Paddleboarding
  • Bodyboarding
  • Kayaking – Sea or River
  • Spend a night on the beach
  • Swim in a lake or river
  • Go on holiday – ON THE TRAIN
  • Orienteering
  • Go on the Hovercraft – Just for the sake of it
  • Explore the Pluto Line
  • Geocaching
  • Hike from Source to Sea (or reverse)
  • Go to a Festival
  • Fossil Hunting
  • Wild Camping – NO Tent
  • Hike from Sea to Summit
  • Coasteering
  • Make popcorn on a campfire
  • Toast Marshmallows on a SECRET Beach

Here’s to our 2017 year of adventure.

  1. thanks for stopping by my site.. hope you enjoyed reading about hiking in Colorado… we are here for a 4 and a half month stint.. will be returning “back east” as they say out here, in mid April and then on to Maine to spend the summer just outside of Acadia National Park.

It looks like you have quite an agenda planned for 2017! my son is a rock and ice climber in New Hampshire where he guides year round on Mt Washington.. the elevation is just under 6300 feet.. here in Colorado, we are living at 7200 feet, and just up the road the mountain pass is over 10,000 feet.. and yet, Mt Washington has some of the worst weather in the country and is a rather challenging mountain to negotiate.. if you want to come to the states and climb.. he is your guy šŸ™‚

Looking forward to following your adventures this year! jt
